LEGO is revealing some upcoming sets at New York ComicCon today. First up, they were a comic long before they were a cartoon (before they were action figures, before they were a live action movie, before they were a box of cereal), your favorite pizza-eating, crime-fighting reptiles of all time, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The first set to be revealed is 79104, Shellraiser Street Chase.
In addition, they are showing the figs. I was never a big Turtles fan, but it seems like they've got all of the principles here.
There will also be a couple of exclusive figs in conjunction with the Con (but one of them will be given away at the Manhattan LEGO Store, so you may be able to get it even if you're not at the Con.
In addition to revealing the new Turtles theme, LEGO is also revealing two new Super Heroes sets. First up is
Spider-Man: Daily Bugle Showdown (in which we can finally get a Dr. Doom fig, completing my evil trinity of comic villains (along with Magneto and the Joker, the three best villains of all time, IMO).
And, IMO this is an odd move, as I would have expected it to come out around the time of the movie, but better late than never, The Bat vs Bane: Tumbler Chase.
I'm sure we'll see some other stuff from ComicCon soon, such as large LEGO sculptures or other decor from the LEGO display. No hint of any additional giveaway figs from other themes aside from the Turtles.
