Wings of Justice Contest

FBTB is sponsoring a new Wings of Justice contest, challenging you to build a flying vehicle for your favorite hero. You perhaps remember their previous Wheels of Justice contest, so we can anticipate similarly cool MOCs from this new challenge.

Lots of product news

News continues to come out regarding official products. Huw at Brickset found news of three upcoming Avengers polybags: a micro Quinjet, Thor and the Cosmic Cube, and Hawkeye.

Over on Brick Heroes, Will noted that the DK site for the upcoming LEGO Batman Visual Dictionary reveals that the included figure will be Electro Suit Batman.

Will also uncovered an in-store promotion of instructions to make Batman and Robin sculptures out of basic bricks (available in the Pick-a-Brick wall) at US LEGO stores during the month of June. I'm guessing (but have no proof of this) that the instructions and the two stickers will be a give-away that comes with a qualified purchase (perhaps of a Pick-a-Brick cup, or else a Super Heroes set).

One more from Will, he also notes that with a purchase at a LEGO store (perhaps on June 19 or thereafter), you will get a special code to unlock extra content in the upcoming LEGO Batman 2: DC Universe Super Heroes video game.

As long as I'm noting video game news, if you pre-order from EB games, you'll get a 5-Character Villain add-on (while supplies last, and this is old news, so it may be gone already) to add Bizarro, Captain Cold, Black Adam, Black Manta and Gorilla Grodd to your PS3 or XBox game.

Fastest man alive

Patrick Harrison made this really interesting MOC. On one side there is a bust of the Flash, but when you turn it around you get a scene depicting how Barry Allen got his powers.

Iron Man

Legohaulic built this Iron Man. That oversized mask looks pretty good at this scale.

Moodland

MOODSWIM recently posted a Spider-Man at what he calls Moodland scale (I blogged it here). Now he's posted Iron Man, but in making this post I realized that I bookmarked but never blogged his Batman and Wolverine figs. So here you get the whole collection.

See ya, sucker!

Batman is sick of the Boy Wonder in this scene by Tigmon74. BTW, I found this via the Brick of the Day Flickr group, which serves as a little instant blog, where the group admins have threads featuring their favorite MOC of the day (or week).

The Joker's victory over the Baitman

Karf Oohlu puts Bruce in some cement shoes. I guess the Joker did get the last laugh, after all.

Holy app, Batman!

LEGO has released a new app for iPhone and iPad users, LEGO Super Hero Movie Maker. Essentially this allows you to use your phone or iPad to create stop motion movies by taking a series of photos and then stringing them together with some editing software. Sound effects, title cards and other features are included that fit in with the DC universe, though of course you could use this for any sort of stop-motion animation, LEGO or otherwise.

Red Hood transformed

One night, the Red Hood and his gang tried to rob Ace Chemicals. Batman intervened, and in the confusion the Red Hood fell into a chemical tank. His appearance permanently altered, and also in grief and anger over the death of his wife and unborn child, the Red Hood was no more, he was driven insane. The Red Hood was no more, and a new villain arose to terrorize Gotham - the Joker. Here we see versions by Si-MOCs, Lucas and R.K.Blast.

R.K.Blast also gives the variation of the story in keeping with the 1989 Tim Burton movie:

Red Hood

Way back when, Jack was a small time crook and comedian. He ran afoul of the mob, and hid his identity, committing crimes under the guise of the Red Hood. Our story continues tomorrow, but here are variations by Titolian, ShyGuyPal101 and HighonBricks.

Lizard

For yesterday's post I realized that I never fully featured Xenomurphy's Spider-Man vs the Lizard, so I'd like to rectify that omission.

He later noted that he dismantled that scene, but used the Lizard again. I really love all of his custom stickers, both here and in the subway scene above. And his other Spidey and Superman MOCs as well, for that matter.

Spidey vs the Green Goblin

I know others have already posted this, but I can't skip over Mr. Xenomurphy's amazing rendition of Spider-Man versus the Green Goblin. This whole thing is full of incredible build details. Even if there was no comic-book content, just the apartment building would be an amazing MOC to ponder. Also note that explosion, perhaps the best I've ever seen in LEGO form.

His custom Green Goblin is a great creation in its own right.

I love how he tends to make comic book covers out of his MOCs.

The graffiti is a little inside nod to Frank Dillane, who was up for the role of Peter/Spidey in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie. I guess Xenomurphy is unhappy that Andrew Garfield ended up with the part.

Also, some good news, Xenomurphy promises at least one additional Spidey scene in addition to this and his previous Sandman and Lizard scenes.
